A letter has been sent home with all students today (2/15) regarding seasonal flu prefention from NC State Superintendent, June St. Clair-Attkinson and NC State Health Director, Dr. Leah Devlin.

NC and other states are now experiencing rapid increases in seasonal flu activity.  Flu season can extend until May! It is not too late to vaccinate.

In additon to vaccination and voluntary isolation (stay home if you are really sick!)  follow these good personal hygene tips:

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing
  • Turn your head to your shoulder to cough or sneeze to limit the spreading of germs to people nearby
  • Wash your hands with a good lather of soap and warm water
